Here at Relo, we offer a wide variety of sustainable products. Being green is easier than ever in today’s world, and sustainable products are more accessible to the public than ever before. Our products provide a great combination of style, durability, and being environmentally responsible.
We carry a variety of green flooring, including cork, bamboo, reclaimed hardwood, rubber flooring, and recycled leather tiles. However, being green doesn’t have to always come from the actual product itself- some of our flooring companies produce USA made products, such as Columbia, Quickstep, and certain Mohawk products, and keeping in North America, Lauzon is manufactured in Canada as well. This prevents not only the harvesting of exotic trees, but by not having to transport overseas you are also making a sustainable choice. Nearly all our wood products are in the greenworks program, which focuses on recycle, reduce, reuse, recover, and renew- and all adhesives we use are low VOC, to prevent the release of toxic chemicals. Even using engineered flooring is a form of sustainability, since you use less of the tree and manufacture more flooring. We carry carpet that is made from corn, and even old plastic bottles, as well as carrying wool and sisal carpet, which are made from natural fibers.
Our two main tile manufacturers, Mohawk and Daltile also are a part of the greenworks system and are contributing by a commitment to use recycled material in their products, diverting waste from landfills, practicing water conservation and energy reduction in the manufacturing process. When painting, we only use non VOC paint, keeping your home safe from volatile organic compound chemicals that would normally be released.
Many of our countertop options are also sustainable products. Marblestone is a natural stone composite that takes discarded and waste natural stone material and combines it with a small amount of resin, and is not a petroleum based material like natural marble. Our Corian product is Greenguard Indoor Air Quality certified and is a part of the US Green Building Council; once it is installed, the adhesives and sealants used are low VOC, nontoxic and nonallergenic. Our quartz products are also all Greenguard certified, as well as having the extra certification for children and schools. Even some of our window treatments are Greenguard certified, as well as providing energy efficiency by providing UV protection and even sound absorption.
